Believe me, Dot 5 is not the answer to everything. I work on Forklifts. Yale built a new one a few years ago to use in freezers, and coolers. The vertical electric motors had brake ass'y that were on the top of the 2 drive motors setting horizontalabout 6" in diam. After about 1 year, the was a ring of pits in the brake cylinder. They found the problem was the while Dot 5 did not absorb water, it formed a layer of water that floated on the fluid, and pitted the brake cylinder ass'y. They refitted all of the ones they built with stainless steel brake ass'y to stop the pitting.
