It has been explained that if you want to end corrosion issues with a brake system on one of our classic PW's civilian or military, drain and purge the DOT 3 fluid and replace it with DOT 5 (silicone). When that's done, you will get a slightly spongy pedal but the end of corroded lines and cylinders.

Here's the issue: the hydraulic brake light switch will only close when you stand on it--no little touch of the brakes gives a flash. Is it just an old switch on its last leg and/or part of the result of DOT 5 that will be with you even if a new switch is installed?
