The question is how to install the adapter shaft and preload the bearings in the rear bearing carrier. The bearings need to be set to something like 60 in/lbs, and that has to be done before the adapter shaft goes on. There a couple ways to do that, like make an externally splined collar to replace the universal yoke. But there's more to it than that.

You have to decide where you're going to mount the O/D, on the center output or offset output of the transfer case. If you mount it to the center output, you can bolt the OD adapter to the 5 studs that hold the emergency brake bracket. Then relocate the emergency brake somewhere. You will also have to replace the offset rear axle with a centered one.

Mounting the O/D to the offset output gets more interesting, because there's only the 8 bolts for the bearing carrier on which to mount the overdrive. To make this work you have to make an adapter that will receive the rear output gear/shaft and bearings, mount the O/D, then install the whole thing onto the transfer case. The e-brake stays put, the offset rear stays put, but you need a more expensive adapter casting to receive the bearings. It's all doable, it just takes time and money. And how many units can you sell?
