Apparently you do now!

I remember records, 45s, 8 tracks and reel to reel tapes. I remember the cassette in our cousin's inni travelall. That thing seemed like a credit card which also wasn't exactly common back in the 70s. The cars I rode in didn't get FM until the 80s. I recorded music off the radio and copied tapes.

I learned what I liked from listening to the radio which I listened to even while sleeping. I started buying music in the era of CDs. I have quite a collection. It sits under the bed, quietly. I ripped may of my CDs to the computer back in the late 90s. At work we swapped mp3s and such. We had our own music server at the office which was great until internet radio got going.

I haven't purchased a CD in years. I have never purchased music files over the internet. Terrestrial music radio sucks with sometimes exceptions for the college stations in Santa Cruz and Davis. Carrying CDs in the car or even usb sticks is too inconvenient and limited. I'm too cheap to purchase a subscription to satellite radio.

I've grown old and listen to talk radio while in the car. At my current office I can listen to internet radio which is great, but that will all end if we move and have a regulated internet connection.

My trucks are too noisy for radio. They drive at a pace that allows for a different kind of introspection. Either noisy and hot with the windshield cracked open, or noisy cold and shivering with the window cracked to keep the fog off. Lots of time to listen to your own thoughts.

Dodge trucks make their own kind of music.

If I ever make it to Idaho I'll be sure to switch your radio presets while you aren't looking, so don't throw away the user manual.
