Actually I watched Pete movies in 7th & 8th grade. Teacher was Stan Hicks, who went on to become a school administrator.
Stan was very safety oriented. After half an hour of safety, Stan turned the wood lathe on to show us dumb farmers how to spin out a fishing bobber.
About 30 seconds later Stan was bleeding from the chin, where it hit the lathe, his tie was wound around the blank and he wasn't breathing too well. Ya know that big red mushroom button on the wall you were only supposed to hit in an emergency; It really did shut down the whole shop when Larry nailed it.
At least half a dozen knives were out of pockets too, and somebody got one between Stan's neck and his tie. Stan was happy so many guys carried knives. He was still a little out of it by the time Nurse Beckie got there with her bottle of iodine and swabs.
Funny thing was no cops showed up, nobody went to jail, nobody needed a civic medal of Certificate for helping Stan when he needed it.
I still get flashbacks of Pete taking a half moon out of a wood chisel using it for a screwdriver.
