As Max Yasgir said: "I'm a farmer.......", I am just a dumb carpenter, but many years ago my 1968 Ford LTD wagon quit on me. It had no spark. I was able to move the distributor around a bit to make some spark, sufficient to get inside the garage. A much more knowledgeable fellow than me suggested my timing chain had jumped. Sure enough, it was so loose I could remove it without pulling the gears off. I wonder if this could be your problem.
