My 410 Merc in an F250 used to put 200 hp to the ground at 2500 rpm, pegging the dyno. Then wind the 11:1 motor to about 5500. I used to go 0-75 in 3rd gear. T-18 granny, 3.73 rear end.

A 410 is a 390 block with a 428 crank, the longer 390 rods, and short top pistons.

Best mod we found for street trucks was the OE hi-po cams. 350 hp 327 for Chevs, Mopar umm 304 for small blocks, C6OZ for Ford big blocks. C6 means 196, Ford kept selling them into the early 80s. 4x4s usually had 4.11s, so ne need for low speed grunt cams. Every torquer cam was a disappointment. The trade tooo much of the top for a small gain at the bottom end.
