I am impressed at your perseverance! Your Dino runs sure beat my speculation! I was not aware that the flat six had negative overlap. I wonder if that was necessitated by the use of relatively (by modern standards) weak springs. Sort of a means to give the valves plenty of time to close at higher RPM. One concern about cranking up spring tension would be flat tappet wear. The original metallurgy may have circumvented the use of stiffer springs. One could possibly case-harden the lobes if stiffer springs were to be explored.
There I go - pondering aloud again.
