I installed a 57' Plymouth head (Casting number 1676337-1)on my 195? block and I also could tell that the WC-12 had a little more "Snap" on acceleration than before. Standard compression on the 57, 58, 59 Plymouth motors were 8:1:1 ratio. According to the Bunn and Brownell book, 10:5:1 is about max. They claim after that, you start blowing blowing head gaskets. The combustion chamber shape was re-configured which gave you the added compression ratio. Thing is, you can raise the ratio on the older heads by planing also.
