Honey got skunked a couple weeks back. 3:30 AM. Uh-oh I says, while she is rubbing her nose all over, spreading the stink. So I mix up dish sop and vinegar, it works GREAT. Turn on the tub, then go looking for her. She is on my open sheets rubbing her skunky face. Anyway, into the tub, she doesn't particulary like that, but she put up with it. Clean her up, turn her loose, and clean up the bathroom. Where is she now? Drying herself off on my sheets. So, load of laundry with both our beds. Add vinegar to the wash. Next, mix up 50% vinegar in a garden sprayer, and put a coat of clear coat (Dodge content?)over everywhere. Including every place that usually smells like doggy anyhow. I never did get back to sleep. But the house smelled great. Fresh as a Daisey?
And ever since, she has much more respect for me. I have well and truly become her god. She comes when I call, I can even walk her off leash all of a sudden. Well worth the half night's sleep. And did I mention how good the house smells? Fresh as a Summer's Eve?
