Tube is clean as a whistle. Kinda looks like one, too. I like this advice posted by Brent on the Forum Archives:

When I was a kid my neighbor was a mechanic for one of Salt Lakes oldest Chrysler Dealerships. He once told me the best way to clean out a cooling system was to drain, flush, refill with plain water and add 1 pint of ATF, He went on to say, then drive it about 30 miles let it sit overnight if possible, then run it again at high idle until up to running temperature, drain, flush, add 1 cup of ATF then Antifreeze and you will be good as new.
Well 50 years latter I decided to try it out yesterday on my 53 1.5 ton Pilot House Era Truck. The truck engine (237) is all original and purrs like a kitten.
The drained antifreeze was fairly clean. I proceeded to flush out the system including hooking up the garden hose to the block and power flushing it. I got allot of rust and crud out of it.
I decided to try the ATF. I followed his advise. So today I drained it out and man you should have seen the rust and crude that came out. I was amazed to say the least.
I put in new antifreeze and 1 cup of ATF as he told me that it lubricated the water pump and keeps the system clean. I also remember he told me to add 1 cup of Brake fluid to the Automatic Transmission to help it from slipping when it changes gears. I never have dared trying that but on the old Mopar stuff he was dam good. Thanks Dave Watson wherever you are now!

Thanks also to Phil Street for the Forum Archives.
