Heck I measured my tire at 36 inches then put the tape behind my cab as if it is setting in it no way can it go that way. It will just about cover the rear window. Normally I don't carry a spare with me. So I think I will recess the Nut in the bottom of the bed flush. That way I can lay the tire down in the bed and bolt it in if I want to take it with me. When it is out, the bed bottom will be flat still. 99% of the time it will be empty taking it for a drive and the bed is 10 ft long lots of room even with the spare in it.
