Flux Core Wire Weelding Question?

Need to do some welding on my dump bed frame outside. Since I can't stay out of the wind I just bought some flux core wire to use. I have always welded with Argon/CO2 but need to stay out of the wind. Question is can I weld the same way outside and like I did inside just not using gas? Just the clean up later is more messy with splatter?
