Yes, for the sake of whoever ends up with it after you. Please don't bend it. I just had to repair the frame in my carryall from where the previous owner notched the frame so badly that honestly looking at the C shape, I was like, why bother? The front crossmember and leaf springs were doing more than what was left of the frame. (Not really, I'm being dramatic) but it was worth a head shake or two.
I even added in a bolted back up strip along the top just incase all the cutting and welding had created embrittlement.
