Tom got it right. That is an industrial governor - not an ag governor as used on Power-Wagons with rear tail shaft drives.

The Power-Wagon governor is very specific. They were made by both King-Seeley and Pierce with very minor detail differences between them. They had very few similarities, and shared virtually no common parts, with their industrial counterparts.

Can an industrial version be altered to work? Possibly, but I have collected about two dozen different governors over the years and have worked with most of them. Trying to adapt a non PW governor to work correctly would be a project that I would not want to be a part of. The geometry of an original Power-Wagon governor, taking into account not only the outward shape, mounting, and governor internals, but also all the connecting levers and linkages, is very tricky and touchy. My last customer drove 6 hours one way to bring his Power-Wagon to me to set up and get operational an original governor I restored for him. It was certainly beneficial to me to have my tools and spare parts right at hand. I think he would agree it was time and money well spent to bring his truck to me after seeing what we had to go through to fit a governor off another truck to his truck that had once had a factory governor in place.

The nearest non-PW governor I have ever seen to the original King-Seeley and Pierce units were some oddball Pierce governors that VPW happened across years ago. I have no idea of the original application, but it was very challenging, and expensive, making them work correctly.

Keep looking. Original governors are out there. It took me about 20 years to find mine. I have since rebuilt about a dozen for customers and have seen probably a dozen more.
