I'm thinking that rubber isolaters for the rods at the firewall end will be the solution if I keep the rods. The cooling system isolated from body movement. The sheet metal can move all over and not affect the radiator. Frame to engine is the only connection it sees.
Again, the frame is exceedingly more rigid than original. I have two additional cross members that weren't there previously, the chassis is plated full length, and the new core support cross member is much more rigid. As mentioned by others, Catch 22. Sadly a tie rod down the middle isn't going to clear my valve cover... uggh. 10 lbs of crap in a 5 lb sock.
