Those are a two man operation. First what do you have for a gasket? All of the aftermarket gaskets i tried were too thick. A thick gasket will cause trouble.
The little sheet metal screws on the vent is where you get a lot of adjustment. There are slotted holes in the operating bracket. Have someone hold the cowel vent closed while you adjust it. if you over tighten the screws you will strip them out, don't get too much cam over going.
