Take the time to make sure your gear teeth match up correctly. The 12 volt key start starter my m had eventually chewed up the ring gear to the point where it would not work. I got a 6 volt pedal starter from VPW along with a matching ring gear(attached to new flywheel). A little machine work to get the fly wheel correct and it all works great.
