My sons and I brought down my old M37 from the mountains 2 weeks ago. It's been converted to 12v. Overall the truck is in pretty good condition except the starter. It wasn't working well so we pulled it and found that the armature is broken and some wiring is bad. $200 to rebuild the thing - ouch! I tried ordering a suitable rebuilt unit from 2 local parts houses, but they can't get one. So the hunt begins.
I found this one on ebay. It's 12v, gear reduction drive, and I've heard people say that they had good results with "a 12v gear reduction starter" in their trucks, and I'm wondering if this is the one? Anyone have any feedback on this starter, or one like it? Otherwise I'll probably rebuild the one I have. Thanks!
