another couple thoughts. I just went and looked at my M37 and it has the huge crank pulley so also has the larger water pump pulley. so the small wp pulley would only be correct with correct crank pulley.

One more though is do you have a "hump" engine? I mean do you have the external bypass or the integrated bypass for thermostat? If someone put a non bypass (no hump) head on a set up with no external bypass the could lead to possible overheating
