To be honest I am having a cry right now. I may have a long term case- like 45 years worth. Blood tests have never proved it on way or the other- but I have the darn symptoms and they can be debilitating at times.
There were periods when I new I would die if I did not get out of bed, sounds dramatic but the effort was beyond description. I have been contacted by people in the hiking and climbing community about the disease and how to deal with it. In a couple of cases I told them to get back to the Doctors and insist on the antibiotics and to take them for a least a month. interesting enough I have had a medical person drop by and have asked about my symptoms and was told at the time that I had diagnosed two cases the medical system had missed.
I have wondered for years how many thousands of people have died from Lyme disease. Easy to identify and kill in a fresh case but pretty much impossible with an old one.

Kind of throws me that I can get emotional over the stupid disease- i sure do not focus or discuss it more than a few times year, but it is all ways lurking in the back ground.
