Yeah that's probably all true. I looked into having the radiator recored when I did the conversion. With the price they quoted me, I could have a custom radiator hand built (which I'm still considering). The two shops I took it to told me that the tanks have quite a few small cracks in them and that I'd have to replace them. I looked at VPW radiators and seriously considered getting one from them and just modifying it to accept my 7lb cap, but in the end it would be a 60ish year old radiator also undoubtedly with weak solder joints, cracks, etc. I also considered building my own using Mesabi replaceable tubes so that it would be fully field repairable, even if a stick got shoved through it, and I could make the tanks any size I want. We use them at work and they're a pretty slick setup. I had settled on the Toyota radiator, for the size, and availability. If you calculate the cubic inches of core area, for a stock radiator in a stock 84' Ramcharger or w150, the Toyota radiator would have a slight advantage in "cooling cubic inches" so in theory it should work, I think I just need to figure out a workable fan/shroud configuration. Don't know, if this doesn't work I may try one of the other aforementioned routes.
