Sorry to disagree, but the 60-64 Corvairs with the swing axles were not recalled nor do they "flip" over. They, like any car, when driven in ways that they were not designed to, will go out of control. The biggest thing that many casual owners on Corvairs don't understand is the need to keep 10 lbs more air pressure in the rear tires. Typically 16 in front and 25 the rear with bias belted tires (60 Shop Manual). Radials run a little higher but maintain the difference. I have been running the early model Corvairs since 1980 and never had a problem. Most of my miles have be with radial tires on a 1964 Spyder Convertible. They are like any other car, take the time to understand and maintain them and they will give years of service.
