Long ago I remember well a truck lost its gas cap so the person put a rag in the opening before getting a new cap a few days later they got a new cap and it was installed. It ran well for a while then would quit wait 15 min and it would start right up. Come to find out the rag was in the tank and would get sucked up against the fuel pick up tube and stop the engine after waiting the rag would release and the truck would run until it got sucked up again
