I eliminated my vent window and used this kit:

It is American made! Use the flat glass kit. The door is narrow, but these fit.
You will need to extend the glass channel in the front of the door down, with some 3/4 inch ID material. You will also need new glass channel window felt, fuzz or whatever. I made a replacement window pattern out of fiber board and modified it to fit. Then a glass shop made new windows from it.

Also you will need to run wires into the door from the door jamb. I used the retracting wires loom, but if doing it over I would just use the contact point kind.
