My engine would run, but let out the clutch and stall. Turned out cable was wound up tight, could not disenegae clutch or pto. The fix was tranny neutral, tow truck backwards until cable was unwound enough to get winch out of gear.

It's probably why it was parked, you might have got a good runner.
