It will make a huge difference. The Bass Loaded Barrier will stop a lot of noise.
Go to the archives and search for Peel N Seal.
I use it on all my trucks and Corvette as do many others on other forums. Its avaliable at Lowes, cheap, and really works well as a mass loaded barrier. I use two layers and WHAT a difference.
