Spotlights Optional?

Were the spotlights that are mounted through the cab (either through the roof or front windshield post) a factory option or after market add-on only? If they were a factory option does anyone know what manufacturer was used in Flatfenders coming out of Detroit in 53? When I pull down my headliner this fall I want to install one on the driver's side (& maybe passengers also) & thought maybe perhaps I would try and find one that would have come as original equipment. I will be looking for 12V & not 6V (truck converted to 12). No... not remote hydraulic operated spotlights :) Thanks!
