I had a question and know that several of the people that monitor this forum have new Superdutys, so I thought that this would be a good place to post the question.

Thanks for looking at this post! My dad has a 2001 Superduty F-250 XL 4x4. He has had it about 2 and a half months and has a question for all of you Ford owners. There is a noise in the front end that the Ford dealer blamed on a faulty hub, but after replacement it made no change. The noise is loudest at 30-35 mph, but it does not completely go away at any speed. If the hiway is very smooth, then at times it can't be heard. It does not, however get progressively worse with bumpy roads. It either can be heard or it can't and the level of noise is speed dependant. Dad says that it could be described best as a sound like a ball rolling around in a steel barrel. He would like to know if other people have experienced this and thinks that it may be more noticeable because he has the XL package with rubber floors. The noise also does not depend on whether the hubs are lock or unlock or whether it is in 4WD.

Thanks,
Dan
