Absolutely, these middle men have established themselves in the local economy, embellished themselves to the local military types (may be the local military types themselves) and to the foreign dealers whom we wish to become. I doubt it could be much different than the two Caribbean third world countries that I lived in before. (Three, if you count Texas) You don't have to try to bribe everybody, you just have to patiently go through the proper hierarchy. Local people enjoy being treated with respect and as equals by foreigners even though deep inside they feel inferior because of the huge difference in wealth. Any chance to exert some authority over "the weathy foreigner" to remind him who is in control, will be acted on. Food chain, pecking order, alpha male, its the same social process. The problem is the Trucks are worth more in other parts of the world than here, our initial bid may not get the job done. There is only so much the trucks could be worth by the time they get here. Of course, Ray is right. We see the winning bid this year, and bid more next year. Thoughts? Mark
