No they don't preclude from bidding, just getting the trucks: If you want to try, Here you go: IFB Catalog 55-1201 Item 6 Located at: Vehicle Rebuild Workshop, Ordnance Department, Royal
Thai Army, Patoomthani, Thailand. POC: MSgt. Sucha, Phone 66-2-501-2037
extension 647. Why don't you give him a call and ask him about the trucks, if he will personally assure you that if your bid wins, you get the right trucks and that they won't be switched for worthless scrap when you show up. This is the Royal Thai Army, just because Uncle Sam's property is being sold, the RTA think its really their property which they have had since 1969 and they will make sure it goes to whomever they want. The truck serial numbers are posted at the DRMO, in Thailand. So unless you're there already, you can't record those numbers to prevent having your trucks switched. If the M-601s look like the rest of the trucks in the pictures from Ray's sister-in-law, at best they're equivalent to a 2500-3000 rough truck here. Start with $500 per truck there, figure overlad shipping during monsoon season to a Thai port, then filling a 44,000 pound container half full with 7 trucks, then transpacific shipping to the west coast, and transportation in the USA to your doorstep. Too many ifs and unknowns. If you really want a M-601, might make a lot more sense to get a higher quality truck, in much better condition, like the M-601s that VPW sells. The're somewhat more expensive than the Thai connection would end up costing, but they have much better sheetmetal and were not driven the equivalent to the moon and back . Mark
