Along with the obvious (transmission, transmission hump, etc.) I found that the original splined yoke on the intermediate shaft out of my '49 PW was too long to be used with a syncro transmission. It was about 1 - 1 1/2" longer than the one from my '63 PW doner truck. The drive shaft would not collapse enough to fit between the transmission and transfer case with the longer splined yoke. Also, there seemed to be a difference in the cam on the end of the emergency brake lever. Probably different because of a change from a cable to a rod on the emergency brake set-up in the latter years.
