I too owned a British Bike (Norton 850 commando)

It was wired by Lucas (Prince of Darkness)
I bought this bike brand new and I think I pushed it farther than I rode it. The Brits know how to build a bike that looks great and handles fine, its just everthing else is screwed up on them. Sometimes the SAE nuts would be used to replace the Witworth ones. Someone said that the difference in threads was the reason it would leave a trail of hardware and parts on the road due to vibration.

Oh yeah - I also owned a triumph 650 Bonneville. Same fleas - different dog. :-)
