Jerry, the old way to do that is with two one gallon glass jugs, and a piece of hemp rope, put a piece of rope the same size of the jug opening, pour the used oil in the other jug and run the rope down in the oil, keep the jugs as close together as possible. the oil will travel up the rope and drip out the other end clean into the other jug. just a slow filter I guess, had an uncle that kept several going all the time when I was 12-13 years old. course you lose all the additives so that is a consideration also. but it does work, just keep it out of the rain.
