John, this picture only shows my corner of the shop. I do try to keep it clean though. The full building is metal clad, with 100% insulation. The lower level inside is also metal with insulation between inner and outer, which I believe you call wainscot. It works very well to keep the insulation undamaged and a place to hangs things.
In the summer we have three swamp coolers running morning to evening, and in the winter we burn a lot of fire wood in a central wood stove, and back that up with a coal fired forced air furnace.
Most of the time I would rather stay in the shop than go home in the evening. My best thinking happens in the shop in front of the wood stove.
