I have Stihl weed eater for 14 years on my small ranch. Run it 7 hours a day when I whack. Change air filter every few years. Clean the plug. I use the stihl measured oil mix. I empty the fuel at season end. Run the tool dry. Using the original plug. I have a spare cutting head. Mine will fail in the next five years. I also have a 25 year stihl chain saw (the little 015v?). It was run hard in the first 10 years. Was used for 6 cords of hardwood a year. It is resting here doing ranch chores. I let the small engine guy go over it every few years. I ask him to tell me to rebuild or buy another. He tunes it up and gives it back. Tells me it is collectable. I have Stihl leaf blower that has been great for 4 years now. Guess I like them all so far. Lately if you buy the synthetic mix oil when you buy the unit the factory doubles the warranty record in their computer. When buying new, The dealers always tune up the stuff for my 6800' altitude and fill up the tank. They let you run it on site and show you all the features.
