An interesting discussion. I appreciate the comments. In the end I am going to stick with the hydraulic I think. My truck is going to be such a cream-puff, I'll probably only be winching in ice-cream cones on Sundays. And I'm probably a lot closer to the hydraulic then the PTO. Plus I think I like the idea of being able to drive while winching (I've never used a winch on a truck, but this would seem to be a real handy thing).

Anyway thanks for all the comments and suggestions.
