pedal bushings installation question

I'm installing new clutch and brake bushings that came in the VPW kit. The old bushings had a hole for the grease from the zerk to lube the shaft. Should I drill a hole before pressing them in or a smaller hole through where the zerk fitting is after pressing in. Thanks Jim
