the fine of 105 million is larger than the Honda fine last year for 70 million. Bad day for Chrysler. After the massive Toyota recalls and the Honda reluctance to do anything about airbags that blow shrapnel into your face the NHTSA is cracking down. Almost seems like they are using Chrysler as a scape goat. Mitsubishi hid recalls for over 20 years. Never made headlines but their corrupt practices almost drove them out of the US market. I remember when Nissan in the 80s had to buy back evey single van they had sol int he US. the burst into flames driving down the road. that was the previous largest buy back in history that I can rememnber.
