Subject to verification by a transformer engineer- Notice that coils only have three external connections. The little + and - lugs are the primary coil, the big contact is one end of the secondary coil. The other end of the secondary goes to one of the primary lugs. So polarity is omportant. And running them backwards makes them HOT. Maybe that is the prob with Chicom coils?
