When using a power washer with sand injector, use this or a similar product to spray on the clean metal. Just let it dry normally.

Phosphate is used widely in the powder coat industry. This is concentrated, so a shot glass mixed with a gallon of water is all you need. I use a weed sprayer to apply it.
