Once you take bust the nuts loose on your U-Bolts you should change them out to new. They can snap later while removing/putting the nuts. They go on with a lot of Inch Pounds and even more trying to get them off which can twist the rod. The nuts/threads lock due to rust and heat due to friction and seize. Removing them slowly helps with lots of oil and a impact wrench working them a little.
