That's the way my Shepherd was although she would have never followed me on the roof! She was a big scaredy cat but would have given her life to protect me. I could trust her to stay home all the time but not this one.
I came back after dark this steelhead season and unloaded her without putting her directly in the kennel. Didn't see her for three days although the kids and neighbors did. Finally one the neighbors asked if I knew Cassie was camping at their house. So I walk two houses down and there she is laying right by the front door. It didn't help they started feeding her.
In her life there are only three things she thinks about. Number three is how fast is that thing running and can I catch it, number two is when is somebody going to pet me and for how long and the single number one, by far most important thing in her life, is when is somebody going to feed me, how much and how fast can I get it down.
Plus she virtually NEVER sits still. =(
