So here are the new frame rails, trial fitted up. I cut the left one in a funny shape so that I could retain the original serial number, but keep the splice as much in the middle of the cross member as possible. Right side is a straight cut. I'm thinking that putting the splice over the front member will provide good reinforcement - I will weld it to the inner frame at the end and rivet it onto the the cross member in the existing holes. I will also probably put a long fish plate spanning the front member, for some extra meat for the bolt-on plow to come.

That said, if anyone can provide the center-hole distance for any of the three holes on the top of the winch frame rails I would really appreciate it. I want to make sure that everything is setup correctly as I get ready to weld. I know the width at the shackle from the manual, but not the end of the frame. I suppose it is the distance of MU winch bolts, but I couldn't find those. This would be appreciated.
