swapping the hinges will make it worse. I think in a moment of stupidity I straightened the hinge because it was bent so much. So I will pop it out and bend it in the vise, get the door to fit and do some fine adjustments later. I did have them fitting perfect before the tear down.
As to bending doors with a block of wood I have been asked to do that on a few other cars, works great when the door is twisted and does not fit on the top or bottom. The issue i have with trying that in the door jam is the hinge is a lot thicker than the door metal and that may bend first.
Other trick will be to run a rod through both hinges and get them aligned.
