I would go 4BT but the prices have gone stupid high. Well, anything with a Cummins....or that has ever touched a Cummins is stupid high around here. I could run a V10 for a long time before the break even point.
Doesn't matter anyway, I will not be using the motor, just need a good frame to shorten the time frame of the project while keeping my regular driver on the road. In the end, the carryall will end up with the fresh axles, built tranny, and 24V out of my 2001. I can get the carryall big work out of the way, then take a few days swapping over parts from the '01. Even though the motor only has 250k on it, I will likely tear it down and check/replace bearings, maybe rings if it looks close, throw in a gasket kit, and paint it all Cummins Khaki.
