Most of the previous threads you will find on this Forum, and in the archives, that discuss Civilian WDX-WM300 sock type filters and whether or not they fit the Power-Wagon canister are in reference to the Deluxe Clean Oil systems that used a Deluxe JC filter element.

The canister you pictured is NOT a Deluxe unit and appears to be either a Purolator, Fram, or one of the dozens of other brands that occasionally appeared on Power Wagons. Deluxe was by far the most common but certainly not the only one available - even if ordered through the dealer. Your canister was never meant to fit a Deluxe JC.

Some of the most common replacements for the sock element in the Deluxe JC canister included the MoPar 676 575, MoPar L-74, APCO A120, Micron FT-1, Purolator T-1, Hastings 501, Fram C-120E, AC C231, Powerflo 731, Wix CW-11-DG, and the modern Baldwin JC405. None of these will likely fit your canister. Most certainly the following JC replacements: Wix 51011, NAPA 1011, or CarQuest 85011 (which are actually the size of a larger Deluxe CU element) will by far too large to fit.

This is the challenge. Power-Wagons did not necessarily come with an oil filter as standard equipment. The buyer at the time had a wide choice of aftermarket options. And, who knows what some previous owner installed after robbing an aging tractor or forklift. Unless you can identify the maker of your canister, you will probably have to find a filter strictly by dimensions. Keep in mind, some manufactures designed their systems to feed dirty oil in near the top of the canister, and some were designed to feed in near the bottom. This is but one determining factor in the type of element that would ultimately be correct for your particular application.
