A few years ago, my wife and I traveled to Williamsburg to check out George Vest's award-winning WC-6. Taking it on the ferry across the James River we shared deck space with a bunch of bikers. The biggest and baddest of the lot while a straddle his hog sizes our ride up and down, nods and growls: "Nice jeep, bro!" All 170 lbs of me looked all 340 pounds of him right in the eye and replied: "Thanks, bro! Nice Yamaha you're riding there!"
Before he could dismount I pointed to the name plate on the hood and said "Man, this is a Dodge which makes it no more jeep than your Road Glide is a Yamaha!" Chagrined, he muttered "Sorry man" as we docked on the other side. His buddies were still laughing when we drove off the ferry. Judging by their rides, lack of colors saying "Mongols" "Angels" or "Banditos" I figured these were doctors, lawyers and other professionals who dress "bad" on the weekends.
I would have said "THANKS!" to the jeep comment, if they were all packing ball peen hammers instead of picnic lunches. We bought "Millie" from George and love her to this day.
