I believe if the vehicle *and* all the contents are your personal property, you do not have to enter a weigh station. Many owners paint "NOT FOR HIRE" on the sides of their rigs so that they are not identified as a commercial carrier. The commercial codes do not apply to private rigs, but GVW does.
