It was most likely a problem with the installer.

I originally had the lines reversed (not really sure how I goofed that up), which is most likely what damaged the seals. Otherwise the box hadn't been used since I bought it new. Doesn't mean it wasn't bad, but after sitting in the truck for a few years there's no real warranty on it any more either.

That makes sense with the turn and return side flow though, I only get leakage after turning the wheel, doesn't leak while just sitting still.

The return lines should be OK, as I'm using the original PS reservoir from the Cummins source vehicle, which had hydro-boost, so it has a return on the reservoir for the HB, and the one on the pump is used by the box after going through a PS cooler.
